Description: This is a set of 140 cards that contain information about bacteria, virus,fungi,and parasies likely to be found on the USMLE.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide medical sthe pertinent information they need to help them prepare for the USMLE. Any technique or item that helps make learning easier for the student is not only beneficial, but also welcome. The cards meet the authors’ objectives.
Audience: The cards are designed primarily for medical students, although any student participating in a medical microbiology course would find them useful. The authors are targeting medical students and they write at a level that this group can easily understand. Both authors are MD/PhD candidates who have achieved academic awards. This appears to be their initial published work.
Features: Relevant information concerning all the main bacteria, virus, fungi, and parasites are summarized on the cards. A short case history involving each infectious agent is provided. Only the primary infectious agents are listed. Most opportunists are not mentioned.
